Star Wars. YA Fiction. Girly romance. Patrick Rothfuss. Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter.
I read a big mix of fiction books, because I don’t always want to be struggling through an epic and advanced series – sometimes, I just want to read to escape. Quickly and easily.
I liken it to doing sports – I don’t always want to be doing a Spartan or Tough Mudder obstacle course (if you don’t know what that is, look it up). Sometimes, I just want to stroll down to my local cafe, enjoy the sun, and get myself a good coffee (and if you don’t know what that is, then you must be an alien).
Of course, sometimes I’ll really change it up and read business books and biographies, but this is more for something when I’m taking a break from the usual work days and want to feel productive or extra smart.
Every so often, I’ll add a book review to BookBub or Goodreads, as its fun to keep track of what I’ve read (although if my Kindle really knew how many books I had read before it came along, especially in my high-school days, I think it might shut itself down in shock).
But looking at my BookBub profile is fairly amusing, given I have reviewed The Selection by Keira Cass, right next to The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss.
It’s still tempting to load up a review for every Star Wars book I have read…but then, you would never find my other book reviews!
So – are you a one genre person, or do you like to mix it up also?
